"100 years of the Fatima Apparitions" m/s on cover from Luxembourg

After Paul VI in 1967, John Paul II in 1982, 1991 and 2000 and Benedict XVI in 2010, Pope Francis is the fourth pope to make a visit to Fátima, today and tomorrow, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Apparitions of Our Lady of Fátima in Portugal.
As a reminder, the Virgin Mary appeared to three young shepherds in Fátima, a small village in central Portugal, six times during the year 1917 (between 13 May and 13 October).
The site of these apparitions has been transformed into a Marian sanctuary and is today a world center of pilgrimage.
This devotion to the Virgin of Fátima, very popular among the Portuguese population, has spread throughout the world, and in Luxembourg in particular where a large Portuguese community is living.

In a scattered order (from March 7 to March 13, 2017), the postal administrations of Luxembourg, Poland, Slovakia and Portugal put into circulation a nice joint souvenir sheet dedicated to the 100th anniversary of these apparitions of Fátima.
I was lucky enough to receive this great cover, franked with the Luxembourg version of this joint souvenir sheet (€ 0.95, design : "Design & etc", issued on March 7, 2017), sent on April 29, 2017 from the municipality of Wormeldange. Thank you very much Holger!
To note this special postmark mentioning the 25 years of the Crémant de Luxembourg "Poll-Fabaire", Wormeldange (located near the German border, in the east of the country) being well known for its vineyards and its microclimate thanks to the valley of Moselle.
About these apparitions of Fátima, each year, on Ascension Day, nearly 20,000 pilgrims, most of them from the Portuguese community, participate in the pilgrimage in Wiltz, in northern Luxembourg, where a sanctuary was erected in 1951 in honor of Our Lady of Fátima.

Il s'agit de Paul VI en 1967, pas Pie VI (mort en 1799 !) Olivier :)
